New Homebuyer Tax Credit Established
Last week, the president signed a bill that included a new tax credit for both first-time and repeat homebuyers. The new tax credit is an improvement over the previous version, which was only available to first-time buyers and was set to expire on Nov. 30.
Some of the key enhancements include:
The passing of this legislation is very positive news for anyone looking to buy or sell a home. Both first-time and move-up buyers can now take advantage of the new tax credit in addition to today's historically low interest rates.
The National Association of Realtors (NAR) has published several documents outlining the new tax credit.

WHAT ARE YOUR NEEDS AS A RI REAL ESTATE HOMEBUYER?
Do you know how much you can afford? That is a good start. How about the decision to buy? Are you ready to make a purchase of this magnitude? What is your long term financial plan?
Does home ownership hurt or help that plan? Okay, now how did you decide?
Let's say you are going to make the decision to purchase a home in RI.
Have you decided on an area? Do you know that it isn't only the school systems and highway accessibility that differ from area to area, city to city or town to town?
Real Estate Taxes also differ. When you know how much you can afford and you are ready to contact me to look at houses. First review the Property Taxes for your target area. This can affect your purchasing power.
Maybe $3,000 a year doesn't fit well within your budget for the next....years. What do your property taxes entail? City Trash pick up? Maybe, but then again maybe not.
I am like many of you and do not like my time wasted. Imagine for a second, the time that is wasted on property that you are interested in and it happens to be located in Richmond, Rhode Island.
Well, lets say the homework wasn't done and you decide to look at a few wonderful 4 bedroom 2 bath houses in the town of Richmond.
Would you be happy with your decision if you discovered that there is no city trash pick up in Richmond? After you have spent all of your time and energy, your options are now, to either hire a trash pick up service at an extra cost per month or drive your discarded items to the town dump site when its open.
Maybe you are someone who doesn't or wouldn't mind. If not, Terrific and enjoy your new home. What if you did mind? How upset would this make you and most of all, how much time did you spend on looking for this dream home which you could have found in another city/town that had garbage pick up. Ponder that thought.............
This is an example of something commonly overlooked when purchasing a home. With Licenses in RI and CT, I can help you save time and inform you of other items typically overlooked. That are very important in the home buying process. Because that is it, home buying or selling is a process.
I can ensure important things are not overlooked. Call me now at (401) 391-2324.
